Breast Cancer and Environment

There are over 85,000 synthetic chemicals on the market today, all of which are tied to industrialization. While this may be good for the manufacturing sector and GDP, it turns out that the more chemicals a country uses, the higher the rate of breast cancer. In fact, non-industrialized countries have far lower breast cancer rates than industrialized countries, and people who move from a non-industrialized nation to an industrialized nation end up developing the same risks of breast cancer as residents of the industrialized country. Advocating for a “precautionary principle” when dealing with synthesized chemicals (rather than the “risk management” principle now commonly used).
